COVID-19 hit hard across many industries. One of the most affected was live events, especially music. You can’t pack 20,000 people into a music venue or 50,000 people into an arena during a pandemic. HARMAN Professional Solutions, a subsidiary of Samsung, sells lighting and audio equipment to companies who stage live entertainment events. To soften the COVID-19 blow, HARMAN employed out-of-work live entertainment professionals and paid them to share their expertise and then make those webinars free to other professionals looking to enhance their skills while stages are dark. Born was HARMAN Learning Sessions. Some of the presenters worked with such names as Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, and John Legend. The one-hundred live webinars drew more than 30,000 participants and led to thousands of future leads for HARMAN.
