Inspire PR Group was approached by the Butler County Visitors Bureau (BCVB) to collaborate and drum up buzz around the Donut Trial and encourage tourism. To navigate this challenge, Inspire designed a strategy utilizing media coverage, influencers and event planning during June 2017, but most specifically on National Donut Day, to spark conversations about and tourist visits to the Butler County Donut Trail.

To increase awareness of the Donut Trail before National Donut Day, Inspire pitched and secured press placements in multiple regional and national outlets, including American Nexos Magazine, NBC News, CNN Travel, Simplemost, Stock and Barrel Magazine, USA Today, Backpacker Magazine and Tri-State Living. After securing these placements, Inspire delivered donuts, gift bags and fact sheets to 34 central Ohio media representatives and influencers on National Donut day, resulting in even more press coverage in local outlets. On top of their impressive media and influencer relations, BCVB passed out more than 500 donuts and visitor guides during their National Donut Day event.

Inspire and BCVB’s campaign succeeded with astounding numbers, securing more than 120 placements and garnering more than 220 million impressions. Inspire’s strategy successfully drummed up interest around the Butler County Donut Trail, resulting in a sweet outcome for the BCVB.

Some experts estimate the average consumer is exposed to between 4,000 and 10,000 ads daily. In today’s oversaturated environment, digital ads are a dime a dozen, and more marketers are leveraging customer experience to make a lasting impression with their audience.

To mark the company’s third year attending Milan Design Week, PepsiCo Design & Innovation planned an immersive installation, PepsiCo Mix It Up, to familiarize attendees with PepsiCo’s diverse product portfolio, including their long-established brands and some new faces. PepsiCo collaborated with innovative designers and some of the food and beverage industry’s top minds to create an interactive exhibit unlike any other.

Instead of merely observing PepsiCo’s various brands’, Mix It Up guests were taken through a hands-on experience bound to make a lasting impression. The event garnered more than 35,000 live visitors and 1 million impressions from online viewers, marking an overwhelming success and showcasing the importance of customer experience.

Sila Sveta, an interactive media and design company, designed a virtual tour through an interactive exhibit Sila Sveta designed for the Lexus Dome in Moscow. The tour video is based on actual 3D models of the dome and incorporates content from the installation.

The video opens at the entrance of the installation, and slowly walks through the exhibit, and finally ends with a full demonstration of one of Lexus’ vehicles construction. Video watchers can navigate their view to look at their surroundings as if they were truly walking through the Lexus Dome instead of experiencing the building via their screens.

Category: 55. Print Media – Design – Other — Exhibition Design

Museum exhibits are a testament to designers’ creativity and skill. One of these exhibits is the American Museum of Natural History’s Our Senses exhibition launched in November.

To create this experience, the American Museum of Natural History worked with designers to create multiple large-scale and individual exhibits in several rooms of the museum. The exhibition uses bright pops of color along with interactive components to demonstrate how the human senses work.

The designers’ hard work’s result is a fully immersive environment for the exhibition’s visitors. Museum-goers can explore a virtual garden through the eyes of a bee, challenge their hearing through an audio-collage, marvel at optical illusions, take part in a smell test, and walk through many other experiences that highlight the five senses’ extraordinary capabilities. The unique exhibit is bound to be a lifelong memory for its visitors.

Category: 145. Electronic Media/Social Media/Interactive Media – Social Media – Blog (Overall)

Traveling to a new city or country is an exciting, but overwhelming, experience. Deciding what landmarks and restaurants to visit in an unfamiliar place is a daunting task, hence the skyrocketing popularity of travel Instagram and blogs that provide destination inspiration.

To continue providing their guests the best hospitality possible, Hilton launched a travel blog that clients can visit to learn more about their destination. Instead of consulting outside travel bloggers, Hilton turned to their own employees to provide the inside scoop on activities, restaurants and sights to see in their cities.

Hilton worked with more than 30 of their team members to write blogs about the cities they work and live in worldwide. Each blog post has a different content style according to its author and the destination it features, creating a personal feel. Title of Entry: “We Are Parents We Go Hand-in-Hand with Our Child”
Category: 72c. Public Relations/Communications – Strategic Programs – Corporate Social Responsibility Program

Turkish malls are more than facilities housing retailers, they are institutions that are part of the community’s fabric through social responsibility programs.  Akbatı Shopping Mall, a 2.5-million-square-foot shopping center located in Istanbul, recently started their own CSR program that established the shopping center as a reliable resource for young parents.

Turkey’s population is one of the youngest in the world (the average age is 29) and is home to many young mothers. As part of an effort to build a relationship with young parents, Akbatı Mall created a campaign centering around key parenting questions. The campaign utilized social media, print media, billboards, and a Mother’s Day event to provide parenting insights and resources from child development experts.

The mall’s campaign was an overwhelming success, reaching more than 180,000 mothers and garnering 52,000 followers by the end of the campaign. The campaign wasn’t only a statistical success, but also successfully asserted Akbatı Shopping Mall as not only a retail center but a community staple.

Title of Entry: “CHANGI AIRPORT GROUP”
Category: 11. Print Media – Publications – Annual Report

Annual reports take many different forms, both digital and print. The most common challenge for building annual reports is taking dry statistics and boilerplate language and creating a publication that stakeholders want to read.

Singapore’s Changi Airport is an international gateway serving 60 million passengers and 80 countries each year. Changi Airport approached Q-PLUS DESIGN PTE LTD to design an annual report that not only communicates the airport’s key facts but is also visually engaging.

The 2016/2017 annual report brings the airport to life on publication form by using sharply-written content with quality photography and eye-catching graphics.  The imaginative report reads more like a celebration than a delivery vehicle for yearly facts and statistics surrounding the airport.

Category: 132c. Electronic Media / Social Media / Interactive – Social Media – Content Campaign (Multiple Platforms)

Choosing the best platform to reach your audience is a challenge every marketer and communicator knows well. Washington College in Chestertown, MD was recently faced with this challenge when brainstorming ways to communicate with their audience, students ages 13-17 who will eventually attend college.

To reach their audience, Washington College paired with Buzzfeed to create engaging and relatable content on both social and digital platforms. Washington College utilized a variety of content across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Buzzfeed’s web presence to reach potential students.

Through a series of videos, listicles, quizzes and social content, Washington College was able to reach their audience on the platforms they most enjoy through light-hearted and relatable content. Instead of strictly focusing on the academics of college, the school chose to create content that highlights the fun and invaluable experiences of college life. Quizzes and listicles such as “11 Freshmen Bonding Moments That Will Make You Nostalgic For College,” and “Pull An All-Nighter And We’ll Tell You What Grade You Got,” appealed to their audience on a personal level and ignited excitement around the college experience.

The campaign was an overwhelming success, garnering more 83,223,912 impressions and 980,824 content views across all platforms. Washington College’s authentic content successfully engaged with their audience and communicated the school’s personality to potential students.
