Covid is still with us, but urgency is not. In those early days, everyone was scrambling to educate the public, knowing that disseminating information quickly and accurately were the keys to saving lives. Few states did it better than California. The state crafted an emergency plan called “Stay Home, Save Lives.” “Pushing critical messages with trusted voices,” the campaign utilized celebrities and translated the messages into 11 different languages. GMMB, a social issues agency based in San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C., created the strategic campaign and spread the messaging throughout social and traditional media.
