We’ll continue to feature some of this year’s most noteworthy Award entries throughout the competition.
Organization: Devlo Media Location: Pawtucket, RI Title of Entry: “’Storitellah’ | Brian Otieno Sees Impossible” Category: 82. Web-Based Production | Short Form Web Video < 3 Minutes | Documentary |
“Storitellah,” is a short film about photographer Brian Otieno, a Kenyan photojournalist who is documenting the vibrancy of life in Kibera, the largest urban slum in Africa under the pseudonym Storitellah.
“On a recent trip to Kenya, we met with Brian at 5:30 AM in Kibera at his favorite spot for sunrise. As filmmakers and photographers, we all use Canon Cameras so it was Canon’s tag line, “See Impossible” which inspired this short film.” – Devlo Media
The video’s storytelling capabilities and photos spliced in from Brian allows viewers to tap into his expert eye, invaluable knowledge of local culture, and desire to showcase some of the happier and more vibrant times in Kibera.
