We’ll continue to feature some of this year’s most noteworthy dotCOMM Awards entries throughout the competition.
Organization: Developer Counsellor’s International |
Today’s dotCOMM spotlight features a website that goes above and beyond in capturing its subject’s personality and flair.
The Cleveland County Economic Development Partnership partnered with Development Counsellors International (DCI) to create a site as part of a campaign to attract manufacturing talent in Cleveland County. DCI combined vibrant text with inviting videos and images to portray Cleveland County’s personality and flair. Once users are drawn in, they are prompted to choose between finding their “village,” “craft,” “rhythm,” or “voice,” to continue their journey through the site.
The site’s navigation allows users to choose their journey through the site according to what is most important to their session, whether it researches for a future home or entertainment recommendations. Through the Charlotte’s Backyard site, users are able to locate school district information, job openings in the area, volunteer opportunities and restaurant recommendations. Users are also able to learn more about local manufacturing job opportunities and listen to local manufacturing employees who have found their dream job in Cleveland County.
We really wanted to show that manufacturing isn’t the stuffy, dreary warehouses of our grandparent’s generation,” Karleen Lewis, Senior Account Executive at DCI, said.
The site combines cultural, economic and geographical elements to give an inside look into the quality of life in Cleveland County By using vivid images, videos and text, the site communicates Cleveland County’s unique nature instead of reading as a typical county overview.
